The Unknown

I tried to remember who had talked me into this. Everything that happens to me in the last two days was kind of blurry. All I could remember was fighting with the bartender at the back of the club. Suddenly I felt someone grab my shirt. I turn around and saw three weird looking men in tuxedo.  They point gun at me and knocked me out. I was unconscious for awhile. When I opened my eyes, I was in a barn yard. My hands were handcuffed to a chair. Then a voice came out from nowhere. The voice was low and rough. “I want to make a deal with you.” said the voice. “I want you to shoot the President of the United States. If you don’t, I’ll kill you and all your family members,” he said. I was scared to death. I didn’t know what to do. I don’t want to kill the President but I have to or they will kill my family. “Do we have a deal?”Ask the voice. I said “Yes, we have a deal.”

I am still trying to figure out how all this happen. Suddenly someone knock me out again. When I open my eyes, I am in a car behind the White House. I had an ID card and a gun in my pocket. In a seal envelope is an invitation card for a press conference in the White House and a note reminding me to kill the president. I was really nervous. I know it was a mistake, but for the sake of my family I had to do this. I walk into the press conference, it is crowded. I position myself in the middle center. The secretary asked everyone to sit and quiet down. When the President started with his speech, I pulled out the gun and point it directly to the President’s head. I close my eyes and pull the trigger. The next thing I know, all the security guards come pilling on me and taking the gun away from my hand. They brought me into a room in the White House. Four FBI agents interrogated me. They kept on asking me a lot of questions related to the assassination. My answers are “I don’t know.” and “I have no idea.”  They said that I will go to jail for a very long time. I don’t want to go to jail. Jail is the worst place for a man like me. So I pull out the gun from one of the FBI agent and shoot myself in the head.

The oil prices are going up

Almost every day in the newspaper and on news, their main focus is on the rising oil prices.  As the price of oil continues to skyrocket to almost double what it used to be. The three basic effects on costumers are at the pump, on the utility bills, and at the store. Customers now have to pay a double the price they use to pay for gasoline and have less money for other things. The high oil prices will also affect cost to deliver goods. Soon, every single item will be more expensive than before. There are increases in transportation like buses or taxis and in the cost of all other goods and services that use oil for production. Besides, costumers also have to pay more for the costs of heating oil and airline tickets. The homeowners in Alaska will suffer a little because they won’t be able to get cheap heating oil and die because of coldness. If the oil prices keep on getting high, people won’t be able to afford to buy other daily requirement. The governments need to lower the price of oil a little or people will soon be poor and die because they can’t get food to drink or other requirement.

The summary of the movie HELLBOY 2: the Golden Army

Hellboy 2: The Golden Army is the latest movie I watched. The movie starts with Hellboy’s father telling a bedtime story about the Golden Army. It is said that the elves built a golden army to destroy the humans. To activate the army one needs to wear the golden crown. During the war, the golden army destroys many human so the elves king become saddens. He locked the golden army in secret place and broke the crown into three pieces. He kept two pieces and let human have the other.

The story continues with Prince Nuada, King’s son, stole the first piece from the human during an auction. He then kills his father and took the second piece. The last piece is with his twin sister, Princess Nuala, who had run away. Hellboy rescued her and took her to their headquarters where she showed the map for the golden army.

However, Prince Nuada found her sister’s location and went for her. Sensing his brother appearance, Princess Nuala hides the last piece of the crown and burn the map. But the Prince came just in time to save the map. During the fight, Prince Nuada stab Hellboy at the heart and took Princess Nuala as a prisoner. Hellboy wound can only be cured by the Prince in return for the last piece.

Abe Sapien found the hidden piece. Hellboy and the gang went to the golden army location. There Hellboy is cured and Prince Nuada activated the golden Army and commends them to destroy Hellboy. Hellboy manage to destroy all of them but they joined back together. So he challenged Prince Nuada to a one on one combat for the Golden Crown. Hellboy won the fight. He then melts the crown so no one can activate the Golden Army ever again.

“If you could meet any famous person who is alive today, who would you pick and why?”

If I could meet someone famous, I would love to meet Michael Jordan.  He is the world best basketball player in the history. He is honored with six-time NBA champion in year 1991-93 and 1996-98, NBA MVP in year 1988, ’91, ’92, ’96, ’98, 10-time All-NBA First Team in year 1987-93 and 1996-98, All-NBA Second Team in 1985, Defensive Player of the Year in 1988, Nine-time All-Defensive First Team from year 1988-93 and 1996-98, Rookie of the Year in 1985, 14-time All-Star; All-Star MVP in 1988, ’96 and ’98, One of 50 Greatest Players in NBA History, and Two-time Olympic gold medalist in 1984 and ’92.  I want to ask him how he achieve his achievements, and how he feels about it. At the same time, he could teach me how to play basketball  and maybe teach me how to do the Jordan dunk. Maybe in a few years, I can be the world best basketball player like him.

A letter from Jamestown

Dear family and friends,

We have reached Jamestown safely. I hope everyone is fine. How is everyone at home? How is my wife? Did she give birth to a baby boy or girl? How is mom? Did she take her medication? Today is 7/12/1608. Wish cousin James Happy Birthday for us.

Will and I are having a little trouble finding food and drinks. We found a well but the water is very salty. Many settlers had died because of starvation, dehydration, and get bitten by malaria mosquitoes from a swamp. We don’t have a house to protect us from the cold because none of us know how to make a house. We haven’t been making lots of profit for the London Company. John Smith, our leader, got ill and when back to England. Now there is no one to lead us. But luckily, John Rolfe introduces us to a sweet variety of tobacco. The London Company’s profit is going really high. He got married to Pocahontas, the daughter of the Native Indian leader, Wahunsonacock.

Now we are having a good, peaceful relationship with the Indians. I hope that it’s going to be this way forever. Now I have lots of Indian friend, and only one can speak English. His name is Squibull. He is really nice. He built us a nice, warm, and comfortable house.  I have to go now. I will write again in two month or so.  Good Bye!

Sincerely,

Rick Elwin

The effect of the role of religion between Massachusetts and Saudi Arabia

The roles of religion in Massachusetts and in Saudi Arabia have many similarity and difference. Some of the similarity are the parent choose who are the children’s marriage partners are because it involve transfer property from one family to another family. They believe that women have three main duties. One is to obey their husband; two have children, and third is run the household. The other similarity is both religions and culture forbid them to do witchcrafts because they are afraid that the witches or wizard will do a spell on them. In Islam, if you do magic, you will be send straight to hell.  And the last similarity is that they both put their religion ahead of their daily life.

Some of the differences are Saudi’s girl have to wear this clothing called Abayas. It is black in color and it cover up the whole body except the head. It is because the religion and culture don’t allow them to show any part of their body except for the face and hands. The other similarity is Saudi are not allowed to drink alcohol, gamble, or take drugs. I think they are not allowed to have them is because their religion forbid them too. The other differences are that Saudi man can have 4 wives at a time.  If they want to have more wives, they have to keep on divorcing the other wives.  Saudis can do it because it is allowed in their culture to have more than 1 wife. But in Massachusetts they are not to have more than 1 wife.
